THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:
The Lead Engineer, Store Systems will be an experienced business and technology specialist responsible for operations support for all Stores and implementing enterprise business solutions in the retail environment. This role is a hands-on technical contributor, subject matter expert and a leadership position on applications technologies as well as In-Store Technology.
YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
- Incident Management: Leads the investigation of escalated incidents to responsible service owners and seeks resolution. Manages recovery, following resolution of incidents. Ensures that resolved incidents are properly documented and closed.
- IT Infrastructure: Provides technical expertise to enable the correct execution of operational procedures. Leads the implementation of agreed enterprise changes and maintenance routines. Provides reports and proposals for improvement, to specialists, users and managers.
- Change Management: Evaluates risks to the integrity of service environment inherent in proposed implementations (including availability, performance, security and compliance of the business services impacted). Leads the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation of changes based on requests for change.
- System Installation & Decommissioning: Manages installation projects, providing effective team leadership, including information flow to and from the customer during project work. Develops and implements quality plans and method statements. Monitors the effectiveness of installations and ensures that appropriate recommendations for change are made.
- Testing: Reviews planning of the system and/or acceptance tests, including software security testing, within a development or integration project or program. Takes responsibility for integrity of testing and acceptance activities and contributes to the execution of these activities.
- Leadership: Leads a Team of support specialists for incident resolution and escalations from our L1 service desk for Store related issues. Adheres to operational SLA’s and system uptime requirements.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle using Agile methodologies and prepare releases of software components.
- Lead discussions with internal business partners to identify needs and translate business requirements into detail functional specifications and technical solutions with regards to In-Store Technology and Payment Systems.
- Act as IT subject matter expert providing technical and best practice guidance to team through the full lifecycles of a project.
- Collaborate with the business and technical organizations to guide the design, and implementation of the new store systems solutions.
- Coaching and mentoring IT resources to ensure effective and sustainable solutions.
- Understand the business priorities and opportunities to drive business growth.
THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
- Experience working with and designing development concepts using SDLC tools like Jira, Git and Bitbucket.
- 5+ Experience working with Point of Sale Hardware (Registers, Printers, Scanners, Payment Devices)
- 5+ Experience working with Point of Sale and Payment software (preferably Oracle Xstore and Verifone Fipay/RTS)
- Expert Knowledge with Desktop PCs, Windows OS and Network (Wired/Wireless)
- Experience with Mobile OS and Technologies (Android/iOS)
- Experience working in enterprise development team environment
- Familiar with SQL for Data Analytics.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills. Able to effectively convey complicated technical information to diverse audiences
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to propose and evaluate technical solution alternatives, assessing the pros and cons of each approach.
- Extensive knowledge of retail Payment Systems, knowledge of Credit Settlement, Tokenization and EMV
- Excellent communication skills; feels comfortable working with non-technical business partners
- Skilled and comfortable with tackling complex challenges, either in leading the troubleshooting effort or advising/leading others
- Work with production support and project consultants in an onshore/offshore model
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Solid knowledge of industry best practices and technical systems
- Off-Hours support including 24x7 on-call required
- Minimal travel required (training/conferences)
- Must be a self-starter that is results-driven.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.
The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $165,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
