Job summary

Impact Employment Solutions seeks a Lead Onsite Deployment Technician to spearhead hardware deployment projects at client sites across Arizona. You will configure desktops, laptops, and printers, image systems, and ensure deployment standards are followed.

Qualifications

Position Overview

The Lead Onsite Deployment Technician serves as a senior technical resource responsible for the configuration, deployment, and support of hardware solutions for customer environments. This role operates at our client site, leading deployment activities while serving as a key point of contact for technical issues, logistics coordination, and project execution. The Lead Technician provides guidance to project resources, ensures adherence to established processes, and supports successful delivery of deployment initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure, image, and prepare desktops, laptops, and printers for deployment, including hardware upgrades and software installation.
  • Follow and develop detailed work instructions and maintain documentation within the Knowledge Base to reflect current processes.
  • Execute customer configuration requirements, including installation of custom images and adherence to defined deployment standards.
  • Lead onsite deployment activities with limited supervision, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide daily End-of-Day (EoD) project status updates to stakeholders, including Project Managers, client points of contact, and internal team members.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues within the deployment and support workflow.
  • Support light logistics coordination, including equipment handling, delivery, and onsite inventory management and disposition.
  • Assist in training, mentoring, and directing technicians and project resources.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable legal standards.

  • Act as a trusted escalation and communication point for both internal teams and customer stakeholders.
  • Deliver high-quality technical support, documentation, and reporting.
  • Maintain strong alignment with project goals through coordination with leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Promote a high standard of customer service, operational consistency, and process adherence.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong technical aptitude with hands-on experience in hardware configuration and enterprise deployments.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to guide and support team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on technical documentation and reporting.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle for equipment delivery.
Experience and Education
  • Proven experience in a lead technician, configuration, or deployment role within IT services.
  • Experience supporting large-scale or enterprise hardware deployments preferred.
  • Familiarity with company policies, procedures, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in a technical or management-related field preferred.
  • Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITAD, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Additional leadership or first-line management training is considered an advantage.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and use of hands for equipment setup and configuration.
  • Requires coordination, manual dexterity, and visual acuity for technical tasks.
  • Work is performed in both warehouse and client office environments.
  • Regular travel to customer locations is required.
Additional Requirements
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential job functions.
  • Reliable transportation (i.e. personal vehicle) and able to travel to multiple client locations, when applicable.
  • This position requires onsite presence at customer locations to support deployment, supervision, and collaboration.
  • Employees must be flexible and willing to perform additional duties as assigned to support business and project needs.
