Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. seeks an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support classified networks from SPA's headquarters and nearby offices.

You will operate independently as the lead defender for security tools like ACAS and Trellix ESS, interfacing with government CSSPs to uphold security posture. The role requires DoD Top Secret clearance, DoD 8140 IAM Level I+, and hands-on RMF/NIST control experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years in information system security, with 1+ year on classified systems.
• Must meet DoD 8140 IAM Level I+ requirements (Security+ CE, CAP, or GSLC).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Solid understanding of networking basics.
• Practical knowledge of RMF and NIST 800-53 controls.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily security operations and continuous monitoring for classified networks.
• Run regular vulnerability scans and apply remediation with ACAS and Nessus.
• Coordinate with CSSPs and internal teams to maintain policy and dashboard reporting.
• Perform DISA STIG reviews and maintain compliance dashboards.
• Prepare for CORA, DCSA reviews, and incident response tasks.
