The Lead, Information Security Officer provides security leadership to a subsidiary in Humana’s Home Health organization. This is a strategic leadership role, focused specifically on information security in CenterWell provider organization.

The Lead, ISO requires an in-depth understanding of how organizational capabilities interrelate across the function or segment. This role will coordinate activities of cross-organizational and multi-disciplinary security functions, operations, and product teams, working with business and technology stakeholders to identify business needs and manage the deployment of security capabilities and processes.

This role demands high leadership abilities, stakeholder management skills, and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Leadership: Provide leadership as a single point of contact (SPoC) on Security for Technology & Business Teams. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy aligned with organizational objectives. Manage budget and performance metrics.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with departments and executive leadership to integrate cybersecurity measures. Communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement of Security Posture: Evaluate and enhance security protocols and tools to mitigate emerging threats, staying ahead of cybersecurity trends.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Oversee the budget and resources for threat response operations, ensuring optimal asset utilization.
  • Team Management and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of security professionals.
Other Responsibilities
  • Develop and track key risk indicators (KRIs) related to frontline security operations to benchmark and enhance capabilities.
  • Develop staff in cybersecurity skills and personal growth, guiding their continued success.
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry cybersecurity and regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, and PCI-DSS.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally across all organization levels and with external partners.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with product, engineering, and architecture teams.
  • Manage and develop talent, focusing on engagement, well-being, and individual development plans.
Role Requirements

Use your skills to make an impact. At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with broad experience in Application, Infrastructure, and Data Security.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related; Master’s preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex issues effectively.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, incident response, threat landscapes, and industry frameworks.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to see how parts interact with the whole.
  • Understanding of Project Management and Process Flows.
  • Proficiency in Cloud platforms: O365, Azure, GCP, AWS.
  • Presentation skills and ability to present to senior management.
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision, able to lead and develop teams.
Role Desirables
  • Advanced security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, etc.
Remote/WAH Requirements
  • High-speed internet (DSL or cable, 25x10 Mbps minimum). Satellite and wireless not allowed.
  • A dedicated, interruption-free workspace to protect sensitive information.

Travel: Occasional travel to Humana offices may be required.

Pay Range

$129,300 - $177,800 annually, based on location and experience. Eligible for bonuses based on performance.
