Job summary

SSI SCHÄFER is seeking an experienced ISO 9001 Quality Auditor to assess quality systems across welding, fabrication, and metalworking environments. You will conduct process-based audits, evaluate supplier performance, and verify corrective actions.

The role requires strong report writing, independent judgment, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification required.
• 2+ years ISO 9001 auditing experience, including supplier audits.
• 3+ years experience in manufacturing, welding, fabrication, or metalworking.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Welding Engineering—preferred.
• Experience with pipe assemblies or large metal fabrication projects preferred.
• Certified Internal Auditor or equivalent QMS auditor qualification preferred.
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or related QA certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ISO 9001 quality management system and supplier audits.
• Assess manufacturing operations, welding and fabrication processes, and pipe assembly work.
• Evaluate quality systems and process effectiveness.
• Prepare audit reports and verify corrective actions through completion.
• Work independently and collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
