Job summary

Overjoy, a fast-growing AI-native sales partner for SMBs, seeks a seasoned Demand Planner in New York City. You will build SKU- and location-level forecasts, translate demand into actionable replenishment recommendations, and manage safety stock and service targets to balance supplier constraints and wholesale realities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in demand or supply planning with substantial SKU portfolio.
• Strong forecasting, replenishment, safety stock, inventory economics, and S&OP knowledge.
• Experience in consumer products, retail, wholesale, or other business with variable demand and physical inventory.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience with ERP, inventory, or planning systems; SQL/BI tools are a plus.
• Ability to explain uncertainty, weigh service levels against working capital, and make practical recommendations with incomplete data.
• Experience introducing planning automation or AI-assisted analysis; perishable goods expertise or an ASCM certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build SKU- and location-level demand forecasts using sales history, launches, seasonality, promotions, and commitments.
• Translate demand into replenishment and purchase recommendations considering lead times, MOQs, case packs, capacity, and cash constraints.
• Set and refine safety stock, reorder points, and service targets; identify stockout risk, excess inventory, aging stock, and shelf expiry risk.
• Reconcile inventory across ERP, warehouse, distributor, and sales data; resolve mismatches with source-system teams.
• Run planning reviews with customers and coordinate approved actions with purchasing, production, sales, and logistics teams.
• Partner with engineering to test AI-assisted forecasts and alerts, compare with baselines, and track forecast bias, service levels, and turns.
