Position Summary

Posting Note: Full-time, Monday -Friday, Days, 7am-4:30pm with Call. This position provides general oversight for assigned area to ensure daily technical operations achieve and comply with established operating budget, quality control, inventory management, and regulatory standards for the Interventional Radiology (IR) area.

Position Duties
  • Lead Oversight
    • Assists the Manager with day to day operations and the supervision of IR Technologists.
    • Oversees key processes that ensure the timeliness of order response, exam completion, and results reporting. Approves and monitors patient scheduling to ensure patient flow and safety. Coordinates activities of technical staff to maintain integrity and efficiency of the Radiology Information System. Performs clinical work as dictated by patient volumes and staffing levels. Devises and maintains QI indicators and programs for the Interventional Radiology division. Supervises all aspects of IR procedures. Assists with developing policies, standards, and exam protocols. Maintains positive vendor relations and ensures their compliance with hospital policies.
    • Maintains and supports the Radiology PACS system within Interventional Radiology.
  • Fiscal Oversight
    • Provides fiscal oversight in the following areas: Oversees inventories, orders, and receives division supplies to maintain operations within budgetary constraints.
  • Continuing Education
    • Coordinates staff development: trains, orients, and educates IR team to clinical area and service. Maintains the continuing education required for this position.
    • Attends and facilitates meetings and special assignments that relate to this position and service such as department team meeting, department staff meeting, and quality assurance. Receives supervision of work activities from the Manager of Interventional Radiology. Prepares and delivers lectures and publications relating to pediatric interventional studies within and outside the institution. Schedules regular work group meetings for interventional staff technologists in partnership with IR manager.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.

Position Qualifications

Education

1. Successful completion of a JRCERT approved radiologic program Required

Experience

1. Five (5) years of imaging experience in the diagnostic field with two (2) of those years in IR and/or Cath Lab Required

2. One (1) year of pediatric imaging experience Preferred

3. One (1) year of supervisory experience Preferred

Certifications / Licenses / Registries

1. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) License Required

2. Current Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency MRTBE License Required

3. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Required
