Job summary

AIA Seattle is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to lead and grow our interiors practice in Leavenworth-style setting. You will develop design concepts, select materials, and collaborate closely with our architectural team to deliver cohesive interior environments.

The role emphasizes client relationships, project management, and process improvement, with opportunities to expand interiors offerings across residential and hospitality projects.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
• 7+ years of professional interior design experience, ideally in high-end residential or boutique hospitality.
• NCIDQ certification preferred or in progress.
• Strong conceptual design and attention to materiality, color, and detail.
• Experience leading interiors projects and managing client relationships end to end.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proactive, collaborative approach and ability to shape a growing practice.
• Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead interior design for residential and hospitality projects from concept to installation.
• Develop design concepts, material palettes, furniture selections, and styling direction.
• Collaborate with architects and clients to integrate architectural and interior design visions.
• Create interior construction drawings, specifications, and FF&E packages.
• Perform construction administration to realize design intent on-site.
• Manage vendor and fabricator relationships and interior procurement.
• Maintain and organize the studio's materials library and project deliverables.
• Oversee multiple projects and budgets; support business development.
