Job summary

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. seeks a Senior Designer - Interior to lead interior design projects from concept to production. You will guide a design team and shape concepts across VW Group brands for the US market, overseeing 3D/2D development and collaboration with adjacent design disciplines.

The role focuses on hands-on creative output, concept transfer to prototypes, and leadership of project teams within a full-time, on-site setting at our Oxnard location.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date digital technology knowledge in 3D CAD and 2D illustration.
• Excellent judgment of design proportions and proposals.
• Deep knowledge of American culture and automotive market.
• Leading/main design role in production and concept vehicles.
• Extensive knowledge of the main VW Group Brands.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing and product planning process.
• Wide interest/knowledge of creative industry (e.g. entertainment, product design, fashion).

Responsibilities

• Creative – (75%): Develops interior concepts and 3D/2D designs for VW Group brands, producing virtual and physical models.
• Collaborates with Exterior, Color and Trim, and Modeling teams to integrate ideas.
• Leads design development and transposes concepts into prototypes with specialists.
• Supervisory – (10%): Guides design projects from concept to final presentations; manages external contractors and interns.
