Role Summary

The Intake Lead Clinician generates new patient intakes and ensures potential patients complete their initial intake appointments with a clinician. Evaluates the mental healthcare needs of clients and determines eligibility for services.

Responsibilities
  • Responds to intake calls and completes admissions paperwork daily.
  • Conducts interviews individually or in families to assess their situation and determine types of services required.
  • Tracks all inquiries and resolves issues related to the intake process.
  • Collects data to assist with the referral process and follows up on referrals by contacting referral sources.
  • Communicates with referral sources including family members, legal system, psychiatrist, primary care physicians, and other treatment facilities.
  • Maintains schedule for filing court paperwork and hearings, working closely with court personnel.
  • Participates as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ensures all intake forms are properly completed and filed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or Human Services Field from an accredited college/university OR Licensed RN in Massachusetts.
  • LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in psychiatric healthcare preferred, with working knowledge of DSM-V, mental status exams, and addiction/recovery fields. Supervisor experience is a plus.
