RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Lead Insurance Denials Specialist to join our team. We aim to improve radiology's role in diagnosis and treatment. Join us and shine brighter!

As a Lead Insurance Denials Specialist, you will coordinate billing communications with patients, carriers, co-workers, and attorneys to ensure timely collections. You will also provide leadership and training to the account representative team.

This position is full-time, 100% remote, working 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Foster a customer service environment and practice The Experience

Accounts Receivable Collection & Leadership (65%)

• Communicate effectively with patients, carriers, co-workers, staff, attorneys, and other entities to expedite billing and collections.
• Reduce days-sales-outstanding (DSO), increase collections, and improve collection percentages.
• Prioritize work that enhances financial results and objectives.
• Collaborate on quality assurance and process improvement projects.
• Ensure approval protocols are followed for adjustments.
• Monitor denial trends, identify root causes, and update processes to prevent denials.
• Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
• Report account status updates to supervisors.

Staff Support (30%)

• Train, support, and provide feedback to Insurance Denials Specialists.
• Promote teamwork and engagement.
• Lead staff meetings and conduct one-on-one sessions.
• Assign responsibilities and manage schedules.
• Participate in performance evaluations and staff development.
• Assist in hiring and training new staff.

Other Duties (5%)

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience in medical billing or related departments.
• Knowledge of Workers Compensation, HMO's, PPO's, MA, and third-party payers.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Credentialed revenue cycle representative.
• Supervisory experience.
• AHIMA-approved coding certification.
