Job summary

TAMKO Building Products LLC in Dallas, TX seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Supervisor to direct Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians and Automation Engineering Technicians in troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of control devices and electrical systems.

You will lead continuous improvement projects, coordinate with plant supervisors, and ensure adherence to safety and company standards while driving uptime and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of manufacturing experience.
• High school diploma; AA/technical degree or 5 years controls experience.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and motion control (Siemens preferred).
• Experience with HMI programming (Aveva preferred).
• Proficient in troubleshooting and calibrating process instrumentation.
• Strong foundation in electrical theory and control fundamentals.
• Experience with industrial network protocols (Profinet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, Modbus).
• Experience supervising a technical team and enforcing standards.
• Strong presentation and communication skills; adapt delivery to technicians.
• Occasional travel for training.

Responsibilities

• Identify and lead electrical and controls continuous improvement initiatives while managing direct reports in the execution of improvement projects.
• Facilitate on-time and orderly execution of controls projects through plant resources or contracts.
• Collaborate with plant supervisors to diagnose and resolve issues impacting throughput and uptime.
• Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of instrumentation devices and controls systems.
• Provide expertise to resolve complex problems and identify training gaps.
• Direct maintenance activities and advise on main power infrastructure.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs with engineering and maintenance staff.
• Review production, QC, and maintenance data to plan activities and improvements.
• Document knowledge and hand off troubleshooting history for team reference.
