Responsibilities

This job is responsible to ensure that all surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and traced in a quality/timely manner throughout the hospital. Works independently with little supervision. Supervises others to ensure all tasks within Instrument Processing are completed to meet customer expectations. Qualified to train others. Serves as a resource to other IP employees and customer. Interacts and problem solves extensively with the Operating Room personnel.



Qualifications

High school graduate or GED and three years instrumentation experience in a hospital setting.
Certified Central Service Technician certification.
1 year recent work experience in Central Processing
6 months to 1 year in a lead/supervisory capacity
Successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service, preferred.

Basic computer knowledge
Knowledge of computerized instrument tracking system(s) preferred.
Good interpersonal skills
Good verbal and written communications skills (English)
Self Motivated, able to work independently with little or no supervision
Able to work standing
