Job summary

Unisource Solutions Inc is seeking a Lead Installer to efficiently install a wide variety of office furniture, including systems furniture, case goods, and wall mountings, ensuring move-in ready results. You will supervise a crew, train installers, coordinate with customers, and verify installations against floor plans.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of commercial furniture installation experience.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds and work irregular hours.
  • Must read and interpret blueprints/floor plans.
  • Able to unload tractor trailers and bobtail trucks.
  • Willing to work extended shifts as needed.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor installers.
  • Excellent communication with customers and site teams.
  • Familiar with installations from Haworth, Herman Miller, Steelcase.

Responsibilities

  • Install furniture per floor plans and specifications.
  • Lead a crew of installers and ensure safety and quality on site.
  • Trains and mentors junior installers on techniques and best practices.
  • Assist installers with complex tasks and coordinate with customers.
  • Ensure move-in readiness and proper operation of components.
  • Process site paperwork and respond to emails on a tablet.
  • Load/unload trucks and maintain equipment and tools.

Job description

Perform efficient and accurate installation and assembly of a wide variety of office furniture, including but not limited to systems furniture, case goods, accessories, and wall mountings, as required. Always maintain professional demeanor when interacting with customers.RESPONSIBILITIES:Must possess a strong fundamental understanding of basic furniture installation processes.Must understand how to properly fine tune and detail panels, install hard wall offices, case goods, conference tables, and other office furniture as required.Must be familiar with and knowledgeable about how to properly and efficiently install products from various furniture manufacturers, including Haworth, Herman Miller, and Steelcase.Must be able to capably assist installers by installing furniture as directed.Must demonstrate leadership ability to effectively supervise a crew of installers. Will be required to ensure that installers are taking their rest breaks and meal periods.Must be able to train and mentor installers.Must be able to communicate effectively with customers.Must be computer literate to process paperwork on tablet and respond to emails.Must be able to understand blueprints and be adept in both the use and maintenance of various work tools including skill saws, jig saws, routers, sanders, and hammer drills.Provide high-quality control by ensuring that all products are installed correctly according to floor plans and that all required components (e.g. electrical, locks, overhead etc.) are in good working order prior to customer walkthrough so that jobsites are left in move-in condition.Must be mechanically inclined and passionate about hands-on learning.Must possess the ability to unload tractor trailers and bobtail trucks.Must be willing to work irregular hours and extended shifts as needed.Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform other physical tasks for duration of shifts, including standing for an extended period, stooping, bending, and twisting. Must be able to maneuver furniture up an incline or stairs as needed.Ability to drive Class C bobtail trucks is a plus.At least two (2) years of commercial furniture installation experience preferred.*In addition to competitive hourly pay, Lead Installers may have opportunities to work on prevailing wage projects — which include certified payroll requirements — with potential for increased earnings depending on project assignment
