Position SummaryThe Level 1 Installer is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the delivery and installation of contract furniture systems. This role supports senior installers in completing installation tasks while learning manufacturer systems, installation procedures, and jobsite safety practices.Level 1 Installers perform basic installation tasks under supervision while developing the skills necessary to advance within the installation team. Participates in regular 1 on 1 with manager.Essential Functions & Responsibilities1) Installation SupportAssist installation crews with furniture installation tasks including:Assembling furniture componentsMoving and staging materialsInstalling basic furniture componentsPreparing work areas for installationFollow direction from Foremen and senior installers.2) Material HandlingAssist with:Unloading furniture deliveriesTransporting materials within the jobsiteOrganizing products for installationProtecting furniture from damage during installationHelp maintain jobsite organization and efficiency.3) Basic Installation TasksPerform basic installation activities including:Installing simple furniture componentsAssisting with panel assemblyHardware installationFurniture adjustments and alignmentProper use of power tools to assist with installationDevelop familiarity with manufacturer installation standards.4) Safety & Jobsite PracticesFollow all company and job site safety policies including:Proper use of PPESafe lifting and material handlingMaintaining clean and organized work areasFollowing jobsite safety rules and procedures5) Skill DevelopmentLearn installation techniques, tools, and procedures through on-the-job training.Demonstrate:Reliability and punctualityWillingness to learnStrong work ethicTeam-oriented attitudeQualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Basic mechanical aptitudeAbility to learn installation tools and proceduresStrong teamwork and communication skillsAttention to detailAbility to follow instructions and job site protocolsEducation / ExperienceEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.ExperienceNo prior furniture installation experience requiredConstruction, warehouse, or labor experience preferredLanguage SkillsAbility to read, comprehend, write and communicate in EnglishFollow simple instructions, short correspondence and memosAbility to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers and other employeesWork Environment & Physical RequirementsWork performed primarily on commercial jobsitesFrequent lifting of furniture components (up to 75 lbs with assistance)Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with tools for extended periodsUse of installation tools and equipment requiredTravel to jobsites within the service region requiredSome early mornings, extended hours, or weekend work based on project schedulesMust have a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record and meet all eligibility requirements to drive a company vehicleAbility to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
