Job summary

NYCOM is actively seeking a field leader to oversee interior casework installations at construction sites in the Morrisville, NC area. You will build strong relationships with architects, facilities teams, and general contractors, while guiding a 1–3 person crew through installation, safety, and cleanup.

This hands-on role involves extensive travel and coordination across trades to ensure quality, on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years as lead carpenter/foreman/superintendent
  • Ability to build relationships with architects and clients
  • Experience reading and interpreting architectural plans
  • Ability to coordinate trades (mechanical, plumbing, electrical)

Responsibilities

  • Visit construction sites to document progress and readiness for interior casework installation.
  • Educate and coordinate with general contractors and owners.
  • Coordinate access, storage, scheduling, phasing, and site rules.
  • Attend job-site progress meetings.
  • Perform quality-control inspections and enforce Nycom standards.
  • Coordinate with project management to schedule installation subcontractors.
  • Enforce safety policies and site cleanup.
  • Coordinate deliveries of materials.
  • Take field dimensions at job sites.
  • Install product lines and items arriving post-mobilization.
  • Develop punch lists and ensure timely completion.
  • Update project managers on status.
  • Improve project delivery to meet on-time, within budget, and client satisfaction.
  • Manage direct reports/installers (1–3 person crew).
  • Travel 70%.

Responsibilities
  • Visit construction sites and document progress and readiness for interior casework installation.
  • Educate and coordinate with general contractors and owners on how to be ready for an efficient casework installation.
  • Coordinate access, storage, readiness, schedule, phasing, hoisting, job‑site rules, etc.
  • Attend job‑site progress meetings.
  • Perform quality‑control inspections of casework installation and enforce Nycom installation standards.
  • Coordinate with project management to contract and schedule installation subcontractors.
  • Enforce safety policies and job‑site cleanup.
  • Coordinate deliveries of materials.
  • Take field dimensions at job sites.
  • Install various product lines and miscellaneous items that may arrive following mobilization.
  • Develop punch lists and ensure proper and timely completion of installations.
  • Update project managers on status of projects.
  • Improve project delivery to be on time, within budget and satisfying customers.
  • Manage direct reports/installers (1–3‑man crew).
  • Travel 70%.

Requirements
  • Ability to build solid business relationships with architects, facilities personnel, end users and general contractors.
  • Physically able to work in the field at construction sites daily.
  • Communicate accurately and timely with all departments within Nycom and with clients.
  • Skilled at reading and interpreting architectural plans and shop drawings, carpentry and administration of project close out.
  • Able to coordinate work with mechanical, plumbing and electrical trades.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience as a lead carpenter, foreman or superintendent.

Salary: $22‑$30 per hour, depending on experience. A pre‑employment physical, drug screen and background check will be required prior to starting employment. Opportunities for advancement are available.
