Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Inspector, Highway & Bridge to perform construction engineering and inspections on projects including railroads, bridges, and highways. The position is on-site in Connecticut with opportunities for mentorship and career development.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with 8 years of related experience and a valid U.S. driver's license. Preferred credentials include NICET Level 3, a BS degree, CCM or PE license, and CTDOT experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 8 years of related inspections experience.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites and offices.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction layout, engineering computations, and field inspections on bridges and highways.
• Work with Construction Project Manager under supervision to plan and meet project goals.
• Set own project deadlines and provide on-the-job training to new staff.
• Monitor conformance to quality, specifications, and code requirements; maintain inspection records.
• Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning; track QA progress.
• Contribute to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant field

NICET Certification Level 3

Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Willingness to work flexible schedules incl. overnight
