Job description

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Lead Inspector is responsible for the operation of the quality control functions of the repair station. This includes leading the quality monitoring processes and procedures. This role is based onsite in Medley, Florida.

Important Notice: Eligibility Requirement: Only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents will be considered for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring all maintenance is properly documented and accomplished with approved or acceptable data
  • Taking corrective action on deficiencies
  • Monitoring, reviewing and coordinating compliance with ADs, FAR/s and manufacturer’s service bulletins as applicable
  • Establishing and maintaining processes to ensure the airworthiness of all customer articles approved for return to service
  • Providing guidance and supervision to inspection personnel
  • Supervises and controls all Inspection functions
  • Perform preliminary inspection of all articles that are maintained
  • Inspect all articles that have been involved in an accident/incident for hidden damage before maintenance or alteration is performed
  • Conduct Visual inspection for determination of the extent of damage
  • Perform functional testing to determine conformity to repair/alteration data requirements
  • Perform all final inspection and return to service of maintained articles
  • Perform in-process inspections as necessary
  • Inspect incoming raw materials and contracted maintenance components to ensure acceptable quality
  • Ensure technical data used for maintaining articles is appropriate and current
  • Ensure maintenance or alteration is performed in accordance with the applicable approved technical data or data acceptable to the FAA
  • Ensure all test and inspection equipment and tools used to make airworthiness determinations on articles are calibrated as required
  • Ensure maintenance personnel follow the quality control system when performing maintenance
  • Take corrective action on deficiencies
  • Ensure article is listed on a current capability list
  • Use the methods, techniques, and practices prescribed in the current manufacturer's maintenance manual or other methods, techniques, and practices acceptable to the Administrator
  • Use the tools, equipment, and test apparatus recommended by the OEM or its equivalent necessary to assure completion of the work in accordance with accepted industry practices
  • Ensure each person maintaining or altering does that work in such a manner and uses materials of such a quality that the condition of the article worked on will be at a minimum equal to its original
  • Ensuring that the maintenance record entry required by 43.9 or 43.11, as appropriate, has been made
Qualifications
  • Must be appropriately certificated per 14 CFR Part 65
  • Thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations (as specified in 14CFR Part 145.155) and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations are being performed
  • Proficient in using the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected
  • Understand, read, write, and speak English
