Responsibilities
Job Summary:

Exercises limited supervision over a group of Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists. Performs similar work as employees in the core role (Physical Therapist) and participates in daily operations of the work unit. The work requires knowledge of policies, procedures, and equipment applicable to OT/PT/ST.

Essential Duties:
  1. Completes and monitors the daily patient schedule and oversees clinical patient loads. Communicates with the Clinical Coordinator regarding scheduling or staffing issues. Provides rounds coverage as needed. Oversees scheduling of patient programs (e.g., Joint Class, Stroke Night, Parkinson’s Group). Oversees and/or delegates orientation of new staff, students, and volunteers.
  2. Acts as liaison to the Director, Clinical Coordinator, department staff, and other disciplines. Meets with the Director and Clinical Coordinator monthly. Communicates team input on program development and enhancement.
  3. Coordinates and facilitates team communication and effectiveness. Schedules and leads team meetings regularly. Collaborates with clinical leads and team leaders from other disciplines. Promotes collaboration between clinical and support staff, communicating support staff availability and work methods.
  4. Ensures quality performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team. Triages and solves daily team issues. Provides input on therapist performance standards and competencies to the Clinical Coordinator.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program with Clinical Fieldwork. Experience in rehabilitation, orthopedic, or medical/surgical settings preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of direct patient care in clinical physical therapy.
License/Certification:
  • Current Washington State Physical Therapy license.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.

Quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) RQI competency certification is required post-hire, using internal resources for compliance.
