Job summary

Horizon Health seeks a Program Director of Behavioral Health (Nursing/RN) to oversee Summit Regional Medical Center in Show Low, AZ. The role leads an inpatient psychiatric unit with 12 beds, guiding clinical strategy, program development, and staff management.

The director ensures high-quality, evidence-based care, regulatory compliance, and financial sustainability while integrating behavioral health across multidisciplinary teams. Strong leadership and regulatory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or Master's degree in social work/counseling is required.
• RN, LCSW, or equivalent licenses are required/preferred.
• Strong license and regulatory background, leadership skills and staff development experience.
• Excellent clinical psychiatric knowledge base and understanding of programming.
• 5–8+ years of related work experience required.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for behavioral health programs ensuring safety, quality outcomes, and evidence-based practices.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate behavioral health services and treatment models.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations (CMS, Joint Commission).
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and leadership to integrate services across care settings.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to address process improvements and patient care initiatives.
• Define philosophy, goals, and objectives of the treatment program with hospital administration.
• Maximize value from Horizon services with client hospitals.
