Job description

Assume a vital position as a key member of a high-performing team that delivers infrastructure and performance excellence. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the future at one of the world's largest and most influential companies.

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platform, SDWAN team, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise. In this SD‑WAN-focused role, you will help design and build a next-generation SD‑WAN ecosystem with integrated management, monitoring, and analytics, partnering closely with engineering, product, and architecture teams to deliver outcomes. You will also contribute to the SD WAN risk profile by ensuring designs and changes align to security, resiliency, and operational risk controls, with audit-ready documentation and clear stakeholder communication on risks and mitigations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
  • Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
  • Lead and contribute to the architecture, evaluation, and standardization of SD‑WAN and emerging network communication technologies, products, and solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and business units to define current state and future direction of the SD‑WAN technology landscape.
  • Lead and collaborate in the development of technical design solutions and architecture artifacts (e.g., functional architecture, HLD/LLD).
  • Capture, analyze, decompose, and document requirements for systems, products, and subsystems of moderate to high complexity.
  • Partner with business, product, and architecture teams to define next-generation SD‑WAN network requirements and capabilities aligned to business outcomes.
  • Drive product design deliverables and stakeholder alignment, anticipating problems and defining mitigation strategies to reduce risk and ensure successful delivery.
  • Lead test strategy and execution (test plans, test cases, use cases) and support implementation across stakeholders.
  • Apply security/cybersecurity methodologies to network and systems design to deliver secure services aligned to business requirements.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans; manage delivery within schedule and resource constraints.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
  • Hands‑on SD‑WAN network engineering experience across design, implementation, and support.
  • Strong background supporting complex network environments in a global organization.
  • Hands‑on experience producing design artifacts (functional architecture, HLD/LLD) and driving implementation with stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead requirements analysis, translate intent into technical outcomes, and define delivery/operational guardrails.
  • Proven ability to own and manage SD WAN delivery technology/operational risk by maintaining audit‑ready controls and approvals, and proactively identifying, escalating, and mitigating resiliency/security risks in alignment with stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge in SD‑WAN, core networking/routing, network virtualization, and network automation concepts.
  • Experience applying network management concepts to support highly available, reliable services.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate technical design and architecture to stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Industry‑recognized SD‑WAN certification (preferred).
  • Experience with one or more major SD‑WAN platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Layer 2/Layer 3 and overlay/underlay interactions in SD‑WAN.
  • Working knowledge of network automation practices and tools (e.g., API-driven operations, scripting).
  • Familiarity with network security fundamentals relevant to operating production networks.
  • Experience working in regulated, change-controlled production environments (e.g., CAB/ITIL-aligned processes).
  • Experience contributing to monitoring, telemetry, and operational analytics for large-scale networks.
