Position Overview

We’re seeking a seasoned infrastructure engineer to take ownership of our hybrid IT environment, bridging cloud and on-premises systems with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Azure and Windows Server technologies. This role demands hands-on expertise in virtualization, automation, cloud operations, and enterprise security, with a key focus on designing resilient and scalable systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and oversee the deployment of hybrid infrastructure combining on-premises resources with Azure-based solutions.
  • Define and uphold infrastructure standards for cloud and Windows Server environments to ensure they meet high benchmarks for performance, security, and efficiency.
  • Spearhead transition efforts from legacy data center systems to Azure, including planning, execution, and risk mitigation.
  • Administer Azure resources such as compute, networking, and storage components, optimizing for reliability and cost.
  • Modernize and manage Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP services.
  • Apply Zero Trust strategies in architecture—focusing on identity-first security, network segmentation, and minimal privilege models.
  • Utilize tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep to deploy and maintain infrastructure as code.
  • Implement virtualization and container platforms, including VMware, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Work closely with business units and IT teams to coordinate large-scale migrations with minimal service disruption.
  • Introduce isolation methods to enhance system integrity and meet regulatory or organizational compliance needs.
  • Ensure systems align with internal security policies and external standards across hybrid infrastructure.
  • Produce comprehensive documentation covering systems architecture, migration processes, security models, and configuration details.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least five years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a concentration in hybrid cloud environments and Windows Server ecosystems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Windows Server-based infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with enterprise services such as AD, DNS, DHCP, and security hardening strategies.
  • Demonstrated success leading cloud migration efforts from traditional data centers to Azure.
  • Solid understanding of virtualization solutions (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, AKS).
  • Skilled in infrastructure automation and templating using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.
  • Strong grasp of Zero Trust principles and how to implement them in a hybrid IT context.
  • Exceptional documentation habits and strategic planning capabilities for complex infrastructure transformations.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Azure credentials (e.g., Solutions Architect, Administrator, Security Engineer).
  • Industry certifications in cloud-native platforms, virtualization, or infrastructure automation (e.g., VMware VCP, Kubernetes CKA, Terraform Associate).
  • Security certifications such as CISSP or CCSP are advantageous.
