Job summary

Wise Skulls LLC in Palo Alto, CA, is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Lead to drive software development for automotive infotainment and connectivity platforms based on Linux and Android. You will own architecture, platform validation, and performance optimization across high‑end SoCs.

The role requires 8+ years in embedded software, strong C/C++, BSP/kernel debugging, and hands‑on experience with JTAG, Lauterbach, and kernel bring‑up.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming and hands-on Embedded Linux, Android, and kernel debugging experience.
• Experience with high-performance SoCs such as Qualcomm Snapdragon, NVIDIA Orin, or MediaTek.
• Knowledge of QNX, DriveOS, and hypervisor technologies such as Type-1 hypervisors, Gunyah, or ACRN.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software stacks for hardware verification and validation across Hypervisor, Embedded Linux, and Android platforms.
• Perform CPU, GPU, NPU, and multimedia stress testing to identify performance bottlenecks, thermal limits, and stability issues.
• Lead ECU performance analysis, optimization, board bring-up, and hardware/software debugging.
• Work with architecture, hardware, and software teams on design verification and platform integration.
• Support BSP and kernel bring-up, boot flow, device tree, partitioning, and storage configuration.
• Guide junior engineers and provide weekly status updates, risks, and technical decisions to program leadership.

• Develop and maintain software stacks for hardware verification and validation across Hypervisor, Embedded Linux, and Android platforms.

• Hands-on experience with JTAG, Lauterbach, oscilloscopes, and flashing/debugging tools.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, Ethernet, PCIe, and CAN protocols.
• Python or Shell scripting experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ARM architecture, Linux OS internals, memory management, scheduling, and synchronization.
• Embedded compilers, linkers, and linker scripts.
• Automotive communication protocols and embedded CI/CD pipelines.
• Automotive-grade SoC experience.
