Department Details

The Lead Information Security Systems Engineer – Identity Infrastructure and Directory Services is responsible for overseeing enterprise identity systems, including Active Directory, identity lifecycle management, authentication protocols, and access control technologies. The role involves strategic leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration across teams to enhance security, scalability, and reliability of identity services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, implement, and optimize enterprise identity infrastructure, including Active Directory, SSO, MFA, and certificate services.
2. Mentor team members on directory services operations, identity governance, authentication protocols, and access management.
3. Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration of identity systems with applications and cloud platforms.
4. Lead initiatives for passwordless authentication, conditional access, Zero Trust, and identity-based segmentation.
5. Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reports to monitor system health and security posture.
6. Manage vendor relationships to ensure product support and strategic alignment.

Job Summary

Lead and coordinate security controls, oversee cybersecurity systems, and ensure compliance and security across environments. Provide expertise, lead projects, mentor team members, and maintain documentation and metrics. Acts independently, manages strategic initiatives, and supports Sanford Health’s security objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity.
• Security certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, Security+, CEH) are highly desirable.
