Job summary

The Goddard School of Rochester Hills is seeking a dedicated lead teacher to coordinate daily class operations, plan and evaluate engaging activities, and deliver outstanding customer service to families. You will work directly with children and parents in a safe, nurturing environment.

Ideal candidates hold an ECE degree (Associate or Bachelor preferred), CDA is a plus, and 1–2 years of experience. This role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and a collaborative, growth‑minded team atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
• Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
• 1-2 years of previous experience preferred
• Has successfully completed state-required pre-service training
• Develops relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and faculty members
• Ability to calmly address stressful situations professionally while multi-tasking to ensure smooth school operations
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
• Meets background check eligibility

Responsibilities

• Lead teachers coordinate the daily operations of assigned classes.
• Plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment.
• Work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service.
• Observe children’s interests and collaborate with other teachers to develop a creative curriculum.
