Qualifications

Job Summary

Lead the educational care and development of a specific classroom by implementing all components of the Quality Preschool Initiative as defined in the Program requirements. Supervise all Instructional Assistants (IA’s) and perform tasks required to support High Quality learning for all students, parents & extended families. Collaborate with children, staff & families to assure High Quality early childhood education

  • Responsible for planning & implementing a rich curriculum which incorporates the Creative Curriculum, and PITC Curriculum.
  • The teacher will be responsible for using the CLASS tool to guide intentional teaching and meaningful engagement. The teacher will be responsible for creating and maintaining the specific interest centers including Science, Math, Literacy & Language, Dramatic Play, Block Play, Sensory Play, Mindful Me & Soft Places for relaxing using ITERS guidelines.
  • Responsible to insure daily Classroom cleanliness that meets with all Health & Safety Guidelines as defined within ITERS & the External Health & Safety review.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in ECE/ Child Development +24 ECE credits, including Infant Toddler units AND Child development Teacher Permit. OR
  • Master's Degree in ECE/ Child Development +24 ECE credits, including Infant Toddler units AND Child development Teacher Permit.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at various locations, as needed.
  • Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds to support children.
  • Ability to bend and squat to interact with children.
