Become part of a top-notch team as a lead teacher. We are offering a full-time position at the Penacook Community Center in Penacook, NH. This is a great opportunity to grow within a supportive organization. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, caring, with a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 18 ECE credits. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, supervising, and creating a nurturing classroom environment that promotes various aspects of development in collaboration with families.

Duties
Prepare Youth for Success
  • Create an environment conducive to achieving Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Respond sensitively to children's interests, requests, and needs; interact positively; encourage exploration; and use positive guidance strategies.
  • Provide guidance and role modeling; plan curriculum to meet individual needs, incorporating emergent curriculum elements.
  • Establish and maintain program goals ensuring health and safety.
  • Evaluate programs continually, track outcomes, and ensure activities respond to member needs, considering gender and cultural diversity.
  • Use observation notes for curriculum planning and maintain accurate records.
  • Account for members in their group by name and face.
  • Ensure compliance with NAEYC standards, GSQ, Culture DNA, BGCCNNH, and CCLU policies regarding safety and best practices.
  • Administer medications and first aid as needed; communicate occurrences to families.
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization.
Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision
  • Manage record-keeping and weekly reports; provide data to the Center Director.
  • Communicate effectively with families, staff, and children.
  • Supervise staff, volunteers, and students; provide feedback.
  • Support volunteers and staff through modeling and guidance.
  • Lead planning meetings; enhance program visibility via social media and communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Qualified lead teacher with 18+ credits and two years of Early Childhood Education experience, or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years old with 1,000+ hours in a licensed program.
  • Knowledge of current teaching methods, curriculum development, and application.
  • Ability to develop and implement quality programs and foster positive relationships with children.
  • Strong communication skills with staff, families, and the community.
  • Willingness to maintain appropriate appearance, adapt to learning styles, and obtain CPR/First Aid certifications.
  • Possibility of driving the Club van/short bus; must have a safe driving record.
  • Assist in cleaning and organizing; maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally between locations.
Additional Expectations
  • Candidates must pass FBI fingerprint and state criminal record checks; employment is contingent on background clearance.
  • Zero-tolerance policy for abuse; violations will result in disciplinary action, including termination.
