SummaryMountain Lakes Country Day School is seeking a caring and dedicated individual to join our infant team. This full-time position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Responsibilities include:
- Caring for infants ages 3 to 17 months, including feeding, diapering, and engaging in play
- Ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of all children in your care
- Communicating effectively with parents
- Reading stories, playing, and providing a nurturing and stimulating environment
- Implementing age-appropriate, developmentally enriching activities
You'll be part of a supportive team of four experienced infant teachers.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with young children and demonstrate patience, attentiveness, and a genuine love for infants.
DutiesDuties and Responsibilities:
- Provide care and supervision for a small group of children.
- Create daily classroom plans and routines.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and engaging environment for all children at all times.
- Demonstrate a growing understanding of child development through daily interactions, written documentation, and communication with families.
- Accurately record daily activities, injuries, and notable behaviors using daily sheets, and complete required incident or injury reports.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff to ensure consistency and transparency in care.
- Attend staff meetings, school events, and program-related activities as required.
- Participate in professional development and training sessions in accordance with state requirements.
- Follow all mandated procedures related to diapering, handwashing, feeding, and general hygiene.
- Maintain open communication with coworkers and parents to support a collaborative care environment.
RequirementsQualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Must be able to read and write English fluently
- Prior experience caring for infants is strongly preferred
Nice To Haves- Previous experience working with children in a group setting
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
