Job summary

Rocketdyne in Redmond, WA is seeking a Project Engineering Specialist to own day-to-day technical execution of in-space chemical thruster projects through production and test for development, qualification, and commercial programs.

You will collaborate with program management, manufacturing, test, quality, and business capture teams, drive reviews, and author test plans, procedures, reports, and anomaly documentation to move hardware forward.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics with 4+ years of project engineering experience.
  • Graduate degree with 2+ years of project engineering experience or 8+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years in aerospace/high-reliability environments.
  • 4+ years owning technical work and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day technical execution of in-space chemical thruster projects through production and test.
  • Drive closure of nonconformances and test anomalies with technical rigor.
  • Coordinate across engineering disciplines: systems, structures, thermal, drawing development.
  • Author procedures, reports, and anomaly documentation to move hardware forward.
  • Provide technical responses to customer questions and maintain relationships.
  • Lead formal customer reviews and product gate reviews (PDR/CDR/TRR).
  • Review proposals as engineering point of contact and define inputs and scope.
  • Analyze hotfire data to ensure thruster compliance with specs.
  • No routine travel expected for this role.
