Job summary

Axle Info seeks a Lead Scientific Imaging Systems Engineer to own the Signals Image Artist platform infrastructure end to end, across Linux servers, GPU/HPC infrastructure, storage and vendor upgrade planning.

You will manage a multi‑server deployment, drive standardization and upgrades to current vendor‑supported versions, and enable AI‑based imaging analysis for research teams who rely on it daily.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Linux server administration in production or enterprise.
• Direct experience installing, upgrading, and supporting Signals Image Artist or similar imaging platforms.
• Working knowledge of NVIDIA/CUDA driver stacks, GPU troubleshooting, and HPC scheduling concepts.
• Experience with enterprise storage protocols and diagnosing storage/network connectivity issues on production servers.
• Ability to open, manage, and resolve technical issues through formal vendor support channels.
• Documentation‑driven approach to change management with risk assessments and rollback planning.

Responsibilities

• Standardization – align server configurations and Image Artist deployments across sites for consistent production/dev environments.
• Upgrade Leadership – plan and execute vendor‑supported upgrades with blockers resolution and risk/benefit documentation.
• GPU/HPC Infrastructure – install, configure, troubleshoot NVIDIA/CUDA drivers and GPU nodes; support HPC cluster integration.
• AI/Advanced Imaging Enablement – support rollout of AI‑based analysis tools and benchmark GPU vs non‑GPU setups.
• Data Migration & Storage – lead large‑scale data migrations; troubleshoot iSCSI/LUN and NetApp storage connectivity.
• Security & Compliance – apply OS patches, endpoint protection updates, and vendor mitigations fleet‑wide.
• Vendor/Stakeholder Management – own support tickets and escalations; liaise with vendors on status and upgrades.
• Documentation & Reporting – maintain runbooks, upgrade docs, inventories; deliver status reports on health and progress.
