One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning in California is seeking a Lead HVAC Technician / Field Operations Lead to oversee advanced service and maintenance on residential and light commercial systems while guiding the technician team. This role ensures high-quality workmanship, strong customer experience, and smooth coordination with dispatch and management.

You will mentor technicians, coordinate daily field operations, handle escalations, and help shape our standards in a founder-led startup

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5+ years HVAC service experience in residential/light commercial.
• Strong diagnostic and technical skills.
• Leadership ability or prior mentoring experience.
• NATE certification preferred and customer-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced diagnostics, service, repair, and maintenance on residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
• Leads, mentors, and supports HVAC technicians in the field; provides guidance on technical issues, job quality, and customer communication.
• Acts as the field point-person for daily operations, coordinating with dispatch and management to ensure efficient scheduling and job completion.
• Handles complex or escalated service calls and provides on-site problem resolution.
• Reviews job quality, workmanship, and safety practices; ensures adherence to company standards.
• Supports onboarding and training of new technicians.
• Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures technicians follow cleanliness and professionalism standards.
• Promotes a safety-first culture and models safe work practices at all times.
• Communicates clearly with customers, technicians, and office staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Assists management with operational tasks such as inventory checks, job follow-ups, and workflow improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures company vehicles are properly stocked, maintained, and presentable

• Communicates clearly with customers, technicians, and office staff to ensure smooth service delivery
• Assists management with operational tasks such as inventory checks, job follow‑ups, and workflow improvements

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3–5+ years of successful HVAC service experience in residential/light commercial
• Strong diagnostic skills and technical competence
• Demonstrated leadership ability or prior experience mentoring junior technicians
• NATE certification preferred
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Clean driving record
• Professional, reliable, and able to represent the company with integrity

Compensation: $45.00 per hour
