A Lead HVAC Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role involves both hands-on technical work and leadership responsibilities, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair VRF/VRV HVAC systems, including indoor and outdoor units, controllers, and associated components.
  • Perform system startups, commissioning, and diagnostics to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, including filter changes, refrigerant level checks, and coil cleaning.
  • Diagnose system faults and troubleshoot issues related to refrigerant flow, electrical connections, and control systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer manuals to ensure proper installation and repairs.
  • Work with refrigerants following EPA guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Program and calibrate system controllers for efficient climate control operation.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing their HVAC concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and parts used.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair, with VRF systems (Samsung, LG, Daikin, Mitsubishi, etc.). 5+ years
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and control wiring.
  • EPA 608 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • Train, mentor, and oversee a team of HVAC technicians.
  • Diagnosing and repairing technical issues
