Job summary

Harper Limbach LLC is seeking an experienced pipefitter to install, repair, and maintain HVAC pipeline systems. The role may supervise a small crew and requires blueprints literacy and strong safety focus.

The incumbent will read drawings, lay out layouts, select materials, and test systems with gauges and inspection methods. Travel may be up to 15%. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school, vocational school, or training equivalent.
• 5+ years of related experience in pipefitting work on a variety of installations.
• Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions under limited supervision.
• Must be construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of joining, jointing, cutting, bending, threading of HVAC piping.
• Must have valid driver’s license and driving record meeting company policy.

Responsibilities

• Measures and marks pipes for cutting, threading, and welding.
• Lay out full-scale drawings of pipe systems from blueprints.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, and repair according to specifications.
• Select pipe and related materials for projects.
• Inspects and tests installed systems using gauges and approved methods.
• Assembles pipe sections using fittings, cement, solvent, or welding equipment.
• Fills pipes with water/air to locate leaks and observes gauges.
• Reviews blueprints to determine work details and procedures.
• Locates and marks pipe installations in structures with measuring tools.
• Measures, cuts, threads, and bends pipe using tools or machines.
• Hangs supports to hold pipes in place and installs underground piping.
• Performs computer assisted welding for small pipes and microchip piping.
• Identifies safety hazards and escalates issues as needed.
• Facilitates knowledge transfer and teaches trades to less experienced workers.
