Job summary

Sila Boston is seeking a Lead HVAC Installer in Stoneham, MA to manage residential installations and lead a team on-site. You’ll install furnaces, ACs, heat pumps, IAQ equipment and handle all phases from setup to commissioning, while training apprentices and ensuring safety and code compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading residential HVAC replacement and installation projects.
• Ability to independently complete HVAC installations start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of residential HVAC equipment, ductwork, refrigeration, airflow, venting, and commissioning.
• Excellent troubleshooting, leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to train apprentices and installation helpers.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and code compliance.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Proficient with tablets and field service software.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential HVAC installations from arrival to final completion.
• Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, mini-splits, thermostats and IAQ equipment.
• Complete ductwork, refrigerant piping, drainage, venting, gas piping, wiring and system connections.
• Direct and train apprentices and helpers while maintaining a safe jobsite.
• Perform startups, charging, airflow verification, testing and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate concerns promptly.
• Explain operation, maintenance and warranty information to customers.
• Coordinate with sales, dispatch, warehouse, service and management for efficient installs.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, equipment and inventory.

What You’ll Do

• Lead residential HVAC installations from jobsite arrival through final completion.
• Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, mini-splits, thermostats, and indoor air quality equipment.
• Complete required ductwork, refrigerant piping, drainage, venting, gas piping, wiring, and system connections.
• Direct and train apprentices and installation helpers while maintaining a safe, professional jobsite.
• Perform equipment startups, charging, airflow verification, testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and ensure all work meets applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
• Maintain accurate job documentation and communicate equipment, material, or scope concerns promptly.
• Protect customers’ homes and explain system operation, maintenance, and warranty information upon completion.
• Coordinate with sales, dispatch, warehouse, service, and management teams to complete installations efficiently.
• Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory.

What We’re Looking For
