Position Overview

We’re looking for a seasoned Lead HVAC Installer to join our Residential HVAC team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in doing the job right, sets the pace on site, and earns trust through quality work and crew mentorship.

You’ll own each install from start to finish—leading by example, maintaining high standards, and supporting HVAC apprentices in their development.

As we scale, this role has a clear path to Field Supervisor for the right candidate. We’re building a culture that attracts and retains top talent—making Santiam a place where great people come to grow.

Key Responsibilities

1. Install heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems in residential settings, with some crossover into light commercial work as needed
2. Lead a small crew on job sites, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency
3. Interpret layout plans, equipment specifications, and install guidelines
4. Maintain professional communication with homeowners and team members
5. Uphold and enforce all safety policies and procedures
6. Keep job sites clean, organized, and on schedule
7. Solve problems on the fly using sound judgment and field experience
8. Model professionalism and support skill development of junior team members

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of HVAC install experience
• Strong crew leadership skills—at least 3 years of lead install experience
• Excellent customer communication skills
• Proficient in reading install manuals, wiring diagrams, and layout plans
• High attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in crawl spaces or on rooftops

Additional Qualifications

• Oregon LEB or LEA license
• NATE certification
• Experience with mobile field service or scheduling software (e.g., ServiceTitan)
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
