Job summary

HTS Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Senior Estimator to oversee all mechanical and plumbing estimating activities in our Dallas office. The role leads the estimating team, drives bid strategies, and ensures accuracy and competitiveness across bids.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in mechanical/plumbing estimating, strong leadership, and advanced use of estimating software and Excel. Bachelor's degree preferred, with a focus on construction or engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive estimating experience in mechanical and plumbing construction.
• Proven success leading estimating teams and winning complex bids.
• Deep understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems, materials, and installation practices.
• Advanced knowledge of estimating software, Excel, and takeoff platforms.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate all estimating activities and personnel.
• Develop bid strategies, review final estimates, and ensure accuracy before submission.
• Evaluate project risk and provide recommendations on markups, margins, and contingencies.
• Lead major mechanical and plumbing project estimates exceeding company thresholds.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and suppliers.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to the estimating team.
• Support business development by participating in preconstruction meetings and client interviews.
• Continuously improve estimating procedures, databases, and workflows.
