Job Description
Salary: $38.00 - $50.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience

We are seeking a Lead HVAC Controls Technician to join our federal team at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington D.C. This role involves providing Preventative Maintenance and Repair Services for a long-term project that significantly reduces energy and water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Pay Range: $38.00 - $50.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience
Shift: Day shift, Monday-Friday
Benefits: Benefits from first day, company vehicle
Vacation: 3 weeks paid, plus sick, holidays, and floating days
Travel: None, based at this location

As a Lead Controls Technician, your responsibilities include:

  1. Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system modifications on HVAC controls and building control systems.
  2. Collaborate with M&V Engineer to identify and correct issues affecting energy savings, utilizing SkySpark and FDD software.
  3. Diagnose and repair complex control systems, including software testing and modifications.
  4. Document field changes and discrepancies, provide training, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  5. Maintain technical proficiency through self-study and certifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience servicing Building Automation and Control systems (DDC controls) and HVAC equipment.
  • Knowledge of electronic/digital controls, HVAC controls, and facilities management systems.
  • PC proficiency and ability to program HVAC software.
  • Experience with BACnet and Modbus protocols.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with FDD software, SkySparks, Tridium Niagara, and various HVAC controls brands.
  • Knowledge of BAS communication protocols.
  • Proficiency with Johnson Controls Metasys or Tridium Niagara DDC systems.

Education:

  • Associate degree or equivalent in electronics, mechanical systems, or related fields.
