Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks a Unit Controls Technical Lead in Clarksville, TN to lead the development of next‑generation HVAC controls. You will guide functional product development, work with mechanical engineers, and ensure regulatory and performance objectives are met.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, manage project scope and milestones, and contribute to reducing energy consumption while delivering reliable, cost‑effective solutions.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of Project Management experience in supporting engineering product development.
• Experience leading or involvement in an embedded software project or enterprise software development project.
• Reliable planner with good attention to detail.
• Strong leadership along with good verbal English, technical written English and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of HVAC Systems and Components.
• Knowledge of DFSS techniques.
• INCOSE Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead functional product development to create new or enhanced HVAC controls products/features.
• Ensure technical and regulatory objectives are met through the development process.
• Generate functional specifications for software engineers and assess feasibility, cost, and demand.
• Serve as a core team member on cross-functional projects and define technical requirements.
• Collaborate with teammates to design, test, and validate control systems and architecture.
• Maintain effective communication with management, production, and marketing.
