Job summary

Olympus Corporation of the Americas is seeking a Senior Level Human Factors Engineer in Westborough, MA. The role leads Human Factors and Usability Engineering activities for medical devices, ensuring regulatory compliance (FDA, IEC 62366) and documentation across design and development.

You will guide HF strategy, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor staff while supporting global development, with travel up to 15% and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HF, Cognitive Psychology, or related field.
• 5+ years HF with BS or 4+ years with MS.
• Medical Device experience.
• Strong prioritization and multitasking.
• Deep knowledge of HF in medical device development, Design Controls, and Use Related Risk practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as HF subject matter expert providing technical leadership across product development and sustaining efforts.
• Lead and coordinate multiple HF activities, documentation, and risk analyses.
• Develop HF Plans, Use Specifications, and validation study protocols and reports.
• Collaborate with Marketing and clinical teams to ensure understanding of procedures and device use.
• Mentor team members in Human Factors practices and manage vendor contribute.
