A leading organization in Boston seeks a Lead Housing Resource Specialist to assist shelter guests in overcoming barriers to housing. The role requires excellent customer service, teamwork, and knowledge of local housing resources. The LHRS will conduct research, update resources, and supervise students while ensuring accurate data entry. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or relevant experience and have strong organizational and communication skills.
SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm, with availability for early mornings, evenings, & weekends as needed.
PAYS: $25.12 per hour DOE.
LOCATION: Must have the ability to travel to various locations as needed, e.g., 444 Harrison Avenue, Boston; 363 Albany St, Boston; 1 Lingard St, Boston.
The Lead Housing Resource Specialist (LHRS) partners with shelter guests to reduce barriers to housing and supports utilizing actionable decisions and individual housing plans. The goal is to quickly lead guests to safe, affordable housing with the necessary supports to sustain it. The LHRS exhibits excellent customer service, initiative, self-direction, teamwork, a good sense of humor, and knowledge of Boston housing resources. The role involves researching and accessing new housing opportunities, updating resource materials, and assessing guest independence in managing housing searches. The LHRS may work out of the Rapid Engagement Center as needed and will support leadership and supervise two co-op students. The position requires accurate data entry into the HMIS system, emphasizing attention to detail and organization.
