Job summary

Manchester Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable Lead Housekeeper / Porter to maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This hands-on role combines leadership with porter duties and floor-care responsibilities across the facility.

The ideal candidate has housekeeping supervisory experience, understands infection-control protocols, and can operate commercial floor-care equipment. Weekend/holiday availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Lead or supervisory experience in housekeeping or environmental services
• Experience training and directing staff
• Strong attention to cleanliness and safety standards
• Experience operating commercial floor-care equipment preferred
• Healthcare or senior-living environment experience preferred
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily housekeeping assignments and workflow.
• Train and support housekeeping staff and provide direction.
• Inspect rooms and common areas for cleanliness and compliance.
• Maintain cleaning schedules and complete tasks on time.
• Identify and report safety, infection-control, or maintenance concerns.
• Assist with supplies and equipment management.
• Provide hands-on assistance facility-wide as needed.
• Clean resident areas, corridors, and shared spaces.
• Transport supplies and equipment safely around the facility.
• Respond to spills and urgent cleaning needs.
• Set up and break down rooms for events and activities.
• Follow infection-control and chemical-safety procedures.
• Operate floor-maintenance equipment and maintain floors.
