Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit	The primary purpose of the Physical Plant is to maintain the building, grounds, and infrastructure of the UNCW campus so that it is safe, reliable, clean, and attractive. This includes departments such as HVAC, Electric, Plumbing, Landscaping, Housekeeping, Motor Pool, Food Services Maintenance, Carpentry, Paint and Roofing, Fire Alarm and Physical Security and Access and Locksmith Services. The Housekeeping Department is part of the Physical Plant, Business Affairs Division of the university. This section provides special cleaning care to all classrooms, administration offices, the University Union and the University Center. The work involves performance on a continuing basis of a variety of tasks in accordance with established housekeeping procedures.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position	DAY SHIFT | MONDAY - FRIDAY | 6 AM - 3 PM The Lead Housekeeper performs a variety of duties that include the following responsibilities: Lead responsibilities in the absence of the zone manager - Will supervise housekeeping functions within a major area of campus, determine housekeeping requirements within this assigned area, and prepare work schedules and individual workloads. Special events clean up. Manages a daily building routine. Responds to customer complaints and fosters an effective working relationship with others in order to encourage and support communication and teamwork. Special projects. On-call coverage. Basic equipment maintenance. Additional duties may include: Proficient with office equipment and systems such as KeyTrak, uShop, and AiM. Performs building inspections and reports deficiencies to zone manager weekly. Inventory collaboration with Facilities Store personnel to ensure proper levels of products for housekeeping closets are met to prevent shortage of products. Special events coverage including supervising staff on hand and work assignments. Ensure that customer service issues are resolved in a timely manner. Able to handle situations, know who to contact to resolve problems in absence of supervisor. Required to test all tools and troubleshoot equipment issues. Issue and collect keys in emergency situations. Knowledge of SDS safety information and ability to adhere to safety standards. Ensure proper disposal of trash utilizing proper PPE and in accordance with EH&S guidelines. Designation of mandatory employee - This position has been designated as mandatory personnel for the University and may be required to report to work during adverse weather conditions even though the University may be operating on an alternate schedule. This position may assist in the removal of snow, ice or debris, as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
