Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a Lead Housekeeper to manage daily housekeeping services across inpatient and public areas. You will ensure rooms are prepared for admissions, maintain cleanliness, and, in the supervisor's absence, take on leadership duties to support the Facilities Services team.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with no or minimal prior experience; traditional work hours are 6:00AM–2:30PM or 7:00AM–3:30PM, with rotating holidays and every-other weekend

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Less than 2 years of experience.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs discharge cleaning in inpatient rooms and prepares room for next admission.
• Performs routine cleaning in inpatient, public and common areas using established cleaning processes.
• Assumes supervisor responsibilities in the absence of supervisor.
• Keeps equipment clean and functional and reports defects to supervisor.

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The Facilities Services Department provides security, telecommunications, housekeeping, maintenance and engineering services for the campus. The various departments work in partnership to ensure the campus, including all of its buildings, parking lots/garages, patient care and common areas are well maintained, clean, attractive, and secure.

Role Purpose

Responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, using procedures as outlined by the hospital or service organization. During the absence of the supervisor, assumes those responsibilities in addition to regular assignments.
