Job summary

Parkland Health Center, part of BJC HealthCare in Missouri, seeks a Housekeeper to provide daily environmental services and maintain a clean, safe hospital environment. You will clean patient rooms and public areas, ensuring adherence to sanitizing protocols and patient comfort.

The role requires flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, and involves substantial walking. Prior experience is not required. Join our team to support high-quality care for patients and families.

• Shifts include 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., with weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine janitorial and cleaning in patient, public and common areas.
• Discharge cleaning in inpatient rooms and prepare for next admission.
• Room setup and changes, including linens, cleaning and furnishing.
• Keep equipment clean and functioning per procedure.
• Notify supervisor of any equipment or building issues.

Overview

As part of BJC HealthCare, Parkland Health Center offers a unique combination of world-class medicine along with the deep local roots and rich history of its three predecessors – Bonne Terre Hospital (opened in 1911), Mineral Area Regional Medical Center (1952), and Farmington Community Hospital (1969). Parkland Health Center has two locations in St. Francois County, Missouri – a full-service acute care hospital in Farmington as well as a rural emergency hospital in Bonne Terre. Parkland Health Center provides quality primary and secondary level inpatient and outpatient services to the people of St. Francois County and surrounding areas in southeastern Missouri.

In addition, Parkland’s Farmington campus offers a full continuum of inpatient and medical-surgical and intensive care, obstetrics and emergency services, along with a wide variety of outpatient services including oncology services, an infusion center, a wound care clinic, and the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center. Bonne Terre is a Rural Emergency Hospital providing emergency services and outpatient services including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep study.

The Housekeeping department provides support for maintaining a safe, sanitized environment for patients, visitors and guests, using established sanitizing protocols.

Role Purpose

The Housekeeper is an environmental services worker who is responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, using procedures as outlined by the hospital or service organization.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine janitorial and cleaning activities in patient, public and common areas using prescribed, established cleaning process.
• Performs discharge cleaning process in inpatient rooms and prepares room for next admission.
• Performs room set up and changes as needed, including changing linens, cleaning, mopping and furnishing.
• Keeps equipment clean and functional according to procedure.
• Notifies supervisor or manager of any equipment, furniture, or building fixtures that are in need of maintenance.
