CNBC is seeking an organized Homepage & News Editor to lead CNBC’s journalism on the homepage and other platforms. The editor will make fast, smart editorial decisions about how coverage is displayed and prioritized for our audience.

The ideal candidate has excellent news judgment, strong editing and headline-writing skills, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate with reporters, TV producers, digital video teams, and photo editors to ensure urgency, authority, and visual impact across CNBC’s

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom with editing/producing a major homepage preferred.
Excellent news judgment and ability to make quick editorial decisions under deadline pressure.
Exceptional headline-writing, copy-editing and communication skills; strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

Curate and manage CNBC’s new homepage, making real-time decisions about story placement and presentation.
Write and edit sharp headlines and pair them with strong photos, graphics, or videos.
Build visually compelling story presentations by combining reporting with video, data visuals and photography.
Collaborate with digital editors, reporters, TV show teams, video producers, social editors, data journalists and photo editors.
Edit breaking news and adjust coverage as stories develop.
Maintain high editorial standards for accuracy, clarity, tone and presentation.
Develop new approaches to homepage storytelling for CNBC’s multiplatform journalism.
