Qualifications

• Education: HS/GED with biology and chemistry or grandfathered HT certification prior to 2005
• NAACLS accredited HT or HTL program or grandfathered HT certification prior to 2005
• 1 year of laboratory experience
• Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histology program
• Certification as Histotechnician HT(ASCP) or Histotechnologist HTL(ASCP) or eligibility to test within 1 year of hire
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft software
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Prepare and stain tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by a Pathologist.
• Oversee technical operation of histology procedures and contribute to quality improvement and training.
• Participate in NACCLS School of Histology onsite by lecturing or providing educational resources.
