Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Hours: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Days: Monday - Friday

Full Time/Benefit Eligible

In this role, you will:

  • Perform a vital part of the patient care process from accessioning through a variety of staining processes to produce slides for microscopic examination
  • Document all quality control activities and preventive maintenance activities
  • Participate in inventory management, process improvement projects and other projects as needed
  • Participate in digital slide scanner
  • Assist in staff development and training at direction from lab manager
  • Report technical questions and concerns from staff, pathologists, and clients to lab manager
  • Communicates effectively with team members, lab director, and management.
  • Recognize when troubleshooting is needed for optimal specimen quality
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with the laboratory's SOPs and quality management system
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
  • Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

  • At minimum graduation from a school of Histotechnology accredited by CAHEA/NAACLS AND HT (ASCP)
  • 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
  • Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, processors, stainers, microscopes, microtomes and much more

  • 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in a high volume laboratory with documented special stain and immunohistochemistry experience
