Job summary

State of Arizona's Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Construct Technician 4 to lead inspection on highway projects at the Flagstaff site. You will oversee contract compliance, review submittals, and mentor junior inspectors while coordinating with project supervision and traffic control operations.

The role requires driving a State vehicle, strong math and technical skills, and a proven ability to manage field data and safety compliance on complex construction sites.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of highway construction inspection, materials testing and documentation.
• Strong math skills for complex analysis and field calculations.
• Ability to operate and maintain construction-related equipment and tools.
• Effective written and oral communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Inspect minor contract items to ensure compliance with standards and specs.
• Lead inspector for personnel assignments and provide guidance on projects.
• Prepare field docs and verify calculations for FAST system input.
• Review submittals, tests, and project documentation; ensure safety and traffic control compliance.
