Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in high voltage electrical work, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license (varies by location).
• Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA).
• Deep understanding of high voltage equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and substations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficiency with electrical testing tools and equipment.
• Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license; ability to travel to job sites as required

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a crew of electricians and apprentices in installation and maintenance of high voltage systems.
• Plan and delegate daily tasks, ensuring safety and adherence to schedules.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for accurate installations.
• Inspect work for conformance to NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA and other standards.
• Coordinate with other trades and contractors to avoid conflicts and ensure workflow.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and security of tools and equipment.
• Maintain records of materials, time, labor, and progress.
• Provide training and mentoring to crew, enforcing safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot high voltage systems and perform hands-on repairs as needed.
• Communicate with project managers, engineers, clients, and inspectors.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
