Job summary

Satomic is building a robotic chemistry platform to accelerate small-molecule discovery. We seek a Senior Automation Engineer to own the data generation pipeline, ensuring rigorous controls, replication, and production-ready experiments from design to execution.

You will craft and refine automation that translates experimental designs into runnable runs, set validation criteria, and reduce noise across campaigns. Join us in a fast-moving, hybrid team advancing AI-assisted chemistry.

Qualifications

• Hands-on high-throughput experimentation scaled from low-to-high throughput with defined checks.
• DOE fluency: factorial designs, randomization, replication, blocking, and variance analysis.
• Root-cause analysis of physical process to identify real causes.
• Mentoring others and codifying patterns via SOPs or autonomous agents.
• Write scripts to automate data handling, from instrument exports to analysis-ready data.
• AI literacy and using AI tools to extend reach and turn judgment into agent workflows.
• Scientific background to quickly converse with chemists in synthetic chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Own automation tooling used by chemists, enhancing usability and reliability.
• Define condition sets for scale: plate design, controls, replication, validation criteria.
• Tune data generation QC: controls, anchors, replication, plate acceptance criteria.
• Ensure execution quality across campaigns, operators, decks, and time.
• Identify sources of bias and noise; implement improvements to data generation.
• Develop capabilities that enable previously unreachable experiments and scale.
